Alstom is a leading company on the Czech railway market and the second largest manufacturer of rolling stock in the Czech Republic. It operates its own production plant in Česká Lípa, which has more than a century of industrial tradition. It is one of the largest rolling stock production plants in the region of Central and Eastern Europe and focuses primarily on welding components for suburban, regional trains and double-decker cars, light rail vehicles, trams and the metro. The complex employs over 1,300 people and is one of the largest employers in the Liberec region.
Alstom is also a manufacturer of high-speed trains, with seven Pendolino high-speed trains running on Czech railways. Alstom also has top competencies in the field of traffic management, the company was the first provider in the Czech Republic to offer modern ETCS signaling solutions in accordance with the latest EU standards. Traxx locomotives also belong to the portfolio of railway solutions that Alstom provides on the Czech market. Alstom introduces hydrogen technology to the Czech railway market in the form of the Coradia iLint train, the only hydrogen train in commercial operation in the world.
